Xref (External Reference)

An xref is a drawing referenced into another so shared content stays consistent across sheets.

An external reference (xref) is a CAD drawing attached into another drawing so its content — such as a landbase or title block — is displayed and updated from one source. Correct xref structure is part of drafting to a client CAD standard and keeps large sheet sets consistent.
