Crossarm

A crossarm is the horizontal member on a pole that supports insulators and spaces the conductors.

A crossarm is the horizontal member mounted near the top of a pole that carries the insulators and maintains the required spacing between conductors. Crossarm type and position are part of the framing defined in a utility's construction standard and are detailed in distribution drawings.
