Insulator

An insulator isolates an energised conductor from the pole and hardware while supporting it mechanically.

An insulator is the component that electrically isolates a conductor from the grounded pole and hardware while holding it in place. Insulator type and rating are selected for the system voltage and are shown in framing details on distribution drawings.
