Anchor Lead

The anchor lead is the horizontal distance from a pole to its guy anchor, which sets the guy's effectiveness.

The anchor lead is the horizontal distance between the base of a pole and the point where its guy anchor is installed. It determines the angle of the guy wire and therefore how effectively the guy resists the pole's unbalanced load. Anchor lead is specified in guying design and checked in structural analysis.
