Dead-End Pole
A dead-end pole terminates conductors and carries the full one-sided tension, requiring guying or heavier structure.
A dead-end pole is where conductors terminate or the line ends, so the structure carries the full conductor tension from one side only. This large unbalanced load must be resisted by guying, anchoring or a heavier structure, and dead-ends are a key case in pole loading analysis and guying design.
